Biosphera
Biosphera is a site for information, awareness-raising and research on the topics of biodiversity and sustainable development. It offers the public an understanding of how the relationship between humans and nature has evolved in the Cévenol valleys, using the Galeizon valley as an example. Biosphera is run by the syndicate Syndicat des Hautes Vallées Cévenoles (Gard-Lozère), which has been implementing UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere project (MAB) since 1992 and leads a sustainable development project as part of a rural 2030 Agenda. In 2019 Biosphera became the promoter of the MAB programme and the sustainable development objectives when it was awarded the unique status of Maison de la Réserve de Biosphère des Cévennes (Centre for the Cévennes Biosphere Reserve).
